Pros
I’ve worked for Morningside since 2019 and have been able to see this smaller, owner managed company spread their wings in the Texas market. When I started working for Morningside I worked at Nalle Woods of Westlake, as a property manager and then was provided an opportunity to promote from within. You have to have an understanding of the markets, possess an entrepreneurial mindset and be able to thrive in a fast paced environment. This is true for any multifamily company who has done well for themselves in the desirable Texas market. Morningside added another garden style community to the profile in 2019 and is currently working on another acquisition; which we are all excited for. The company has a great PPO insurance plan and a support team which include our knowledgeable marketing manager, project managers and VP of Asset. Everyone is always very busy but is always willing to help train or offer any guidance needed. I personally like that there’s less bureaucracy when working for a smaller company. If you need approval on anything you can just pick up the phone or shoot an email and you get a response to get things done. This past year we saw an improvement made to certain policies that personally made me feel valued as an associate. I look forward to seeing what this coming year brings financially for the company with all of the growth and platforms that are being rolled out. More training and focus on the employees is key.
Cons
I really don’t have any at this time.
