Pros

If they like you and accept you into their little fold, you get to go to Leeds UK once a year. You also get a Starbucks card of $30/month.

Cons

Its a mom and pop company that makes up their own rules as they go. They have no training structure, no mentorship and the owners are pretty much out for themselves and doesn't invest in their people to succeed. They have no benefits and you will have to pay for your family's insurance out of pocket. The positions are pretty vague and basically "made up" since it is a pretty rough start up company. The owners are disorganized and works on their own whim and mood of the day. It's pretty much a "off with their heads" culture if you make minor mistakes. They have no heart and treat everyone as if it's 1800 Great Britain.

Pros

great travel opportunities. if you are good at independently learning how to use software and you like teaching customers how to use it this is the job for you

Cons

The Chicago office cannot keep new people because of this one lady there. you can only learn relevant information for your position from her because she's been there the longest (4 years) and she tries to protect her job by not giving you very much information. in fact, pretty much everybody at this company acts this way and just wants to protect their jobs so it makes for really inefficient systems and frustrating onboarding for new people, and overall frustrating job for young people who are looking for upward mobility and don't need to settle just yet.

Pros

The company has two main strengths; easy-to-talk-to and competent management, and some very nice/helpful employees.

Cons

I'll rattle off a few easy ones, first: - Wage was poor, compared to similar roles at different companies - Not allowed to eat lunch in the office without working through your lunch. They don't have a kitchen or sitting area, so you basically have to go find somewhere else to hang out for an hour. For a 'progressive' business, this felt very archaic. - Training left a lot to be desired. Basically a week of 'watch this video' (which is outdated) and 'read this contract' and then you're just dropped in the deep end and left alone. At least, that was my experience. - Never given any positive feedback, but my 'teacher' was more than happy to tell me every small, tiny detail that I had done incorrectly. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a pat on the head every time I do something right. But an occasional 'good job' goes a long way. - No career progression. You're stuck with the job you get upon joining. Now for the long part. This was my first job after graduating University and I went in with high hopes and wanting to prove that I could adjust to working life after studying. However, this job did nothing but break down my confidence. One person working at Morgan Kai, who I won't name, made my entire experience absolutely terrible. This person was sarcastic, belittling, snapped at me for asking questions and never even attempted to make me feel welcome or part of the team. They just sat on their side of the 'desk' (more like half a cubicle) and then acted surprised when I started to struggle and made snide comments. This person wasn't even my boss/manager. They was just the person 'teaching' me (I use that word VERY loosely, I think I would've learnt more if I had directed my questions at someone in an entirely different department). Each time I would ask a question, I got a blunt or sarcastic response. I even once got asked if I "cared about my job" in front of other employees, despite staying behind several nights in a row to get work finished and always trying to do my best despite the very apparent lack of training. Suffice to say, this person should not be in a teaching role. Now or ever. They are dreadful at it. They do nothing but add stress and make you doubt yourself, the latter of which a 'teacher' should never do.
