Pros

Mood Fabrics is a great company to have on your resume and it led me to several opportunities that are much greater than Mood. Aside from the toxicity of this company, I enjoyed my position for what it was and I worked alongside a handful of amazing, hardworking individuals who I will always stay in touch with.

Cons

Mood Fabrics looks like such a fun company on the outside, so I was surprised by how toxic the work environment truly was. I've never experienced such unprofessional management. Not only was there zero communication between teams, but there was absolutely no direction from my immediate manager. I wasn't told what I was doing right or wrong. Since management is uninterested in teaching you skills that are valuable for your position, you must self teach in order to succeed. Their measure of success is skewed because there are 0 performance reviews and they lie about giving raises. Compensation is very low. Full-time employees are basically treated as freelancers; the benefits are reflective of how much senior management does not care about their employees. There's zero growth not only in the company, but within your role as well. I knew I had to be on my way out early on in my career here. Additionally, higher management did not adhere to Coronavirus workplace practices. As an employee who was required to visit the Lodi office frequently, Eric Sauma, OWNER, failed to enforce face masks, temperature checks, and social distancing. In addition, on several occasions I've witnessed warehouse workers taking naps on bolts of fabric during their lunch breaks. Many employees felt uncomfortable with Mood's working conditions. If negligence isn't for you, run from this company as fast as you can.

Pros

I think a lot of reviews online are written by people who had a negative experience, so I wanted to share my honest perspective. My experience working at Mood Fabrics has been very positive. Working closely with the CEO has been a great opportunity. He is a strong leader who encourages everyone to keep learning and improving. He pushes you to grow professionally, but also takes the time to teach and guide you when needed. That kind of leadership has helped me develop a lot in my career. When I first started, I was in a different role with a smaller scope. Over time, I was able to grow into a new position that I really enjoy. That kind of opportunity to grow within the company is something I really appreciate. There are also a lot of small things that make the environment enjoyable. The facility is new and clean, the team works well together and people are willing to help each other, and leadership recognizes the effort employees put into their work. Time off is handled well when requested, and overall there is a good work-life balance. And of course, Monday bagels are always a nice bonus. Overall, I feel valued and motivated to keep improving every day.

Cons

Personally, I haven't experienced any major downsides. Like any workplace, there are expectations and accountability, but that’s part of maintaining a productive environment.
