Pros

- Good coworkers from all around the world - New equipment - Good location You will find yourself working with some very skilled and friendly colleagues. In general, Monta is a magical place in terms of how many different kinds of people can work in one company. However, due to management’s constant surveillance and the resulting risk of being fired at any moment, you will unfortunately not have much time to get to know your colleagues.

Cons

- Bad management - Bully environment - Zero reactions on bad work environment - Very high number of sickness - Risk of getting violated at social events Monta is a fantastic example of how terrible a work environment can become when children and bullies are given 800 million to play with. The working conditions here are awful. Employees constantly complain about the toxic work environment, poor management, nepotism, harassment, injustice, hypocrisy, and an overwhelming workload. Management is pretending to know what they’re doing. When the numbers go in the wrong direction or employees speak up, the employees just gets fired. In general, being fired is the most common exit at Monta. When applying for a job at Monta, you’ll be told that the company is 100% vegan. That’s partly true. For regular employees, Monta is vegan. However, management prefers to use investors’ resources to buy anything but vegan meals. Employee illness is common. If you haven’t seen a colleague for 14 days, they have either gone on long-term sick leave or been fired. One thing is certain—they’re not coming back. HR has no power. They are mere puppets, fighting to avoid being fired themselves. Ethics, morals, and similar principles are defined on a daily basis by management and no normal definition of this will apply. Public shaming and bullying may occur. I’d recommend having a strong mindset so you don’t suffer long-term effects from their behavior. Management has no leadership experience and is primarily focused on securing their own stock options by avoiding getting fired themselves. To ensure that doesn’t happen, they will see you as an obstacle. So, prepare to be fired during your time at Monta. This is only the tip of the iceberg, so just run and get a job where you do not get sick from. If you work at Monta and none of the above resonates with you, that means you are part of the problem… So take a long look in the mirror and change your behavior.

Pros

- new management changes recently have created a lot more stability and clarity. - priorities are clear and compensation generous - product is good - customers are great to work with - interesting problems to solve - huge investment in AI makes this a great place to keep up the pace and personal skills - learning and development is constant and great! -transparent culture - people are really great to work with! Everyone is super motivated and genuinely passionate about the product. - generous pay and compensation

Cons

It’s fast growing so understandably there are teething issues - you have to have the right personality to thrive in a place like Monta. It isn’t for everyone. Support as a function is chronically underpowered and this adds a strain across the business and to customers which needs attention. Start up mindset and fast learning is crucial. Direction from csuite can change regularly so you need to be on your toes CEO can be a bit tough to work with at times - high expectations but minimal investment to support such expectations.

Pros

- Used to be full of driven and competent people, now most talent has left or is demotivated by current leadership - Interesting industry and product

Cons

- C-level measures performance by sycophancy and used AI tokens rather than actual results. Fear is the primary management tool. Fear of being publicly shamed, fear of being targeted, fear of speaking up. The lack of psychological safety kills independent thinking and innovation. - Politics is all that matters. People who are great at self-promotion but lack real skills are the ones who thrive here. - The HR/P&C department is widely perceived as a joke and doesn't address systemic issues. Monta's culture has already gained a negative reputation in the Copenhagen tech scene.
