Pros
- Good perks. Office ping pong table, after work drinks, kitchen always stocked with snacks etc. The parties are also incredible, it has to be said. - Culture. The vibe is pretty relaxed, with music playing in the office. The office is very nice too. There's a chill vibe to it all, with people joking around like mates.
Cons
- Significantly below average pay for anyone but high level management. Seriously the pay is frankly a bit insulting. Check any salary guide and you'll see this. It was doubly insulting to regularly hear at company meetings that "ASX:MME is doing well and the company is seeing record growth" etc etc when I hadn't even heard a word about a pay increase for almost 18 months. - Straight up expectation of working massive amounts of overtime with zero compensation for it. I was regularly working a bear minimum of 9hr days, with people in my team and the manager working even more. There needs to be adequate compensation for this!?! When I questioned this with my manager and noted that my contract says 7.6hrs per day, I was told straight up that I'm expected to work more than that with no words minced. - Culture. Did I say culture is a pro? Well, it is if you enjoy finance bro culture. While the vibe is chill, you'll find that there are often offensive jokes thrown around the office that are just brushed off as "it's just a joke bro". If you can tolerate that, go ahead.
