Cons
Where to even start with this company?? Management is verbally and emotionally abusive on a daily basis. So much so that mental health is a common topic during nationwide meetings. Instead of fixing the problem and abusive treatment they slap a bandaid on the issue by providing meditation apps for when you can’t sleep at night due to the stress and have even gone as far to hire therapists for employees. Over the course of my time at Mondo, so many employee’s alcohol/substance intake increased while working there because at the end of every day you NEED a drink just to cope. I have seen several coworkers get sent to rehab and sometimes relapse after coming back into such a toxic environment. You can forget about work-life balance. There are times where you will be harassed on weekends or even during PTO vacations where you are expected to still work no matter the time difference. They ‘implement’ flex hours but god forbid you actually take advantage of that. Your day is never really over as you are expected to be on your email all night. If you don’t respond at night, prepare to be screamed at publicly in the next meeting. Mondo’s approach to Covid 19 and the BLM movement was so mishandled and out of touch that several employees quit throughout the company. We were losing business left and right and even though most companies went on a hiring freeze, meaning we had next to nothing to work on, our weekly expected numbers went up which made it nearly impossible to obtain let alone put addition stress on everyone. Since we were all in quarantine we were pretty much expected to work around the clock. Emails that were sent out during Covid 19 from upper management had 0 empathy for what everyone was dealing with. Instead, the message was supposed to motivate us to take advantage of the situation. Mondo’s President even had the audacity to say during a nationwide call, that the coronavirus will the best thing to ever happen to us in regards to those who capitalize on the pandemic. The message was so tone deaf and lacked any concern for those who had been affected first hand. The Monday after all the BLM protests and riots had started across the US everyone expected the morning meeting to address the situation or simply ask how everyone was doing. Management for both the Chicago and Atlanta offices, failed to even acknowledge it. It was business as usual. This out of touch and impudent behavior caused backlash from several employees. To no surprise, several people on these teams quit within the next few weeks. This was just the cherry on top of such toxic and abusive management. The way they let me and so many others go was disgusting. Instead of approaching the situation as an unfortunate outcome during these crazy times they made us feel like it was our fault that we were being fired. They even went as far as try to get people to quit first so that they would be screwed out of unemployment benefits. It’s sickening. They preach to care so much about their employees well-being but at the end of the day, they couldn't care less about our livelihood.
