Pros

Starting wages trend higher than most cooking gigs in town. Employee discount. Camaraderie among coworkers is strong. Immediate supervisors are affable and approachable. Diverse and inclusive work environment.

Cons

You won't get paid your worth and raises are paltry. Attendance points system should be replaced with policies more in tune with the needs of employees. Clientele tends to be rude and entitled. The board are completely ignorant of the day-to-day realities of the operation leading to obstructionist and bizarre policy changes. Employees have zero representation on the board yet are subject to their mandates. Upper management will lie and obfuscate when asked pointed questions about anything pertaining to wages, profit-sharing, or the use of company money.

Pros

Very high expectations with a pay that does not match up. Center store employees such as Buyers are significantly - SIGNIFICANTLY - underpaid. They are selecting your stock, determining your profit margins, creatively planning your sales, and you pay less than 20, less than 18 for these employees. It’s really degrading. Oh, but we’ve got those EV chargers! DEI and virtue signals are more important to the Coop than respectable pay, and that translates to their turnover rate. It could be so much better, but the *culture* is what they sell you on rather than livable wages. This is work in 2023/2024, I do not care as much about culture as I did in 2011. I want to make rent. Same goes for 99% of staff here. Wake up. Oh, and the board members are so completely out of touch. There are 1-2 that walk around daily acting like they own the place and I have heard them give direction. So so weird and not at all how that is supposed to be designed. They don’t work there, we do.

Cons

See above. More cons than pros. They don’t even cover a free beverage for staff on duty. 20% is great until you realize everything is still 9.99/lb.
