Pros
Working in the Retail and Customer Service Industry for 10+ years I had high hopes joining this team - I shouldn't have gone in with so many high expectations Pros -Cheap merchandise -Co-workers help make the day go by quicker -New management does get the opportunity to meet the CEO and actually have time to talk to him....though if he actually listens that's the question to ask -Opportunity to help customers.....then again you can do this almost anywhere else -It's a paycheck -Benefits okay, more of a pro than a con
Cons
-Stores feel thrifty, rundown and stuck in the 1990's -Not a good work / lifestyle balance - if you have a significant other or kids, don't plan on seeing them, especially in December -Company doesn't practice what they preach (Teamwork, Respect, Recognition, Execution of policies) -Not enough respect, recognition for ones that actually put in time and effort -Not a lot of growth potential in the company -Microscopic incentives for associates to perform at higher levels -Associate discount is a joke -Company looks at negatives more than positives -Operational standards are extremely strict -Constantly hearing the Mo's jingle multiple, upon multiple times a day (trust me it can get old quick and can take a psychological toll on an individual) -Upper management constantly blaming faults on others other than themselves -Company seems to have no direction (sporting goods company selling jeans?) -Not a day goes by where you don't question a decision of theirs
