Pros

Salary was decent People supported were nice

Cons

They leave things out of the description/offer. Ours was not the 100% remote people - that is a totally different area. Ours was a 0% remote. They fail to mention you will be in an on-call rotation (and get $0 for doing it). They tell you 'unlimited PTO' after 90 days, the change their minds. You are expected to be an instantaneous learner - and are held responsible almost immediately, with precious little actual training. You will be micro-managed constantly (and deny that they do it). They have a 'bonus' - except you have to complete lofty goals to get it. If you're the kind of person who enjoys being berated and singled out - by all means - apply within. This is more like a cult than an employer.

Pros

Smart, mission-oriented colleagues who care deeply about improving public safety and government services. Leadership is accessible and genuinely interested in employee growth. Flexible work environment; many remote opportunities. Exposure to high-impact projects with state and local agencies across the country. Professional development is encouraged — certifications, training, conferences. Strong culture of integrity and doing what’s right for the client.

Cons

Workload spikes happen — typical for consulting.

Pros

The work itself was meaningful, and several colleagues were professional and supportive.

Cons

Management repeatedly escalated minor issues to HR instead of addressing concerns directly. I was told I was “making others uncomfortable” for speaking up in meetings, even though colleagues indicated they supported my contributions. The communication style felt punitive and inconsistent, and expectations were unclear despite my efforts to resolve issues. Over time, the environment became stressful and untenable, and I resigned.Leadership encouraged the use of generative AI in documentation workflows without clear quality controls, review standards, or guidance on accuracy and confidentiality. When I raised process and quality concerns, the feedback was framed as a ‘communication’ issue rather than addressed substantively
