Pros

There are competent people doing their best to survive incompetent executives and production staff who have little understanding of what they are making as well as the arrogance to ignore the advice of industry veterans. Health care is pretty good and for the most part they are flexible with the pto. WFH is pretty great although there is a pretty clear favoritism of those who are in studio

Cons

Executives have little interest in know how things work There are no schedules or tracking. You would think production would track things such as deliverables, assets and provide a time line for when things are expected. Information is siloed with the executives holding all the power and rarely want to share information Titles mean nothing as do job descriptions Don't be pulled in by pretty words on promises.

We value your input as a member of our team as we’re always trying to improve. Though we are glad you’ve been enjoying our benefits, PTO, and remote work opportunities! Work/Life balance is something that’s always on our mind. To address some of your concerns: “Information is siloed with the executives holding all the power and rarely want to share information.” Our executive team is always striving for better communication. To achieve this, we have Company Town Halls every other Tuesday where we share news regarding current + upcoming projects as well as any team updates. We also have dedicated Slack channels to share info about projects we’re pitching. Please feel free to reach out if you feel like there’s important information you’re missing or ideas on how to improve cross-team communication. “There are no schedules or tracking.” This is not correct. In fact we utilize several time and asset tracking tools. If there are communication issues that are keeping that information from reaching a specific team, please let us know so we can rectify the situation as soon as possible. “Executives have little interest in know how things work.” Again, communication can always be better. However, we have biweekly executive check-ins with our tech, art, and production teams. We also regularly have presentations during our Town Halls to give other employees insight into how our different teams work. Our pipeline differs from traditional animation studios which can be a tricky transition for new hires, especially those coming from large studio backgrounds. “Titles mean nothing as do job descriptions.” We try to be as transparent as possible during the hiring process regarding both titles and job descriptions. It seems like most of these concerns revolve around communication. Feel free to reach out to our People Team offline to discuss how we can improve. Lots of exploration and experimentation while still being organized and having strategic vision. Very friendly, professional people. Energy of a startup that is also for real achieving business goals.
