Pros
Flexibility: Management does their very best to accommodate your scheduling needs. Judgement free: Mental health is recognized and if a break or additional support is needed during more challenging moments- it is given respectfully and with no judgement. That goes for the way they handle questions and feedback. Monthly staff outings- while not everyone can always make it, its a great way to get together outside of the work environment and build those relationships of support and respect. The company is creative with the outings and typically invite + 1 which is really a great way to extend the community support culture. Reviews: The company offers mid-year reviews for both itself and employees. It is a wonderful way to reflect on what is accomplished on both ends as well as where improvement can continue to be made. Feedback of any sort is never discouraged and it feels safe to share anything that is on your mind. QBS Training: Crisis prevention training is given to employees shortly after they begin. It is a great way to support staff and equip them with the additional knowledge and understanding of challenges they may face as well as providing them with the tools to manage them.
Cons
Masks- Masks are still required for employees. Choice is a big part of mental health and not having that opportunity to choose to mask up or not is difficult to deal with in a world that is adjusting to life with the virus, and trying to get back to 'normal'. Requirements for session notes: A more user friendly session note and support from the beginning on how to summarize session notes is needed. We are not only busy throughout session; keeping flow, balance, working in trials, taking data, and continuing to build that relationship with our client-we then need to summarize it all in detail. This takes a great deal of time and reflection - time beyond what is allotted to get it done. It is a source of stress for many.
