pay by experience. specifically cladding drafting experience. drafting experience in general "doesn't apply." had to start at entry level salary ($40k) and work up. work-life balance. 45-50 hour weeks are typical, especially in the middle 1/3 of the year. list of responsibilities is growing at a disproportionate rate to salary increase. the learning curve for anyone new is pretty steep and can be overwhelming for both the senior who has to spend extra time to teach (often half a day. everyday. for a month) while still doing above-average difficulty projects, and for the new drafter who is thrown into the mix. commute to the office means dealing with 285 and 20. gets significantly worse during braves games or any kind of sizeable event in atlanta. closet racists
