There is NO recognition if you're not in the "special" groups. No one will review or recognize your contributions however vital they may have been to the design. Upper level management (Most) will blatantly lie to your face with no compunction whatsoever. They should have taken up Diplomatic posts in various US embassies or could think about politics since they're so well suited for it.
