Pros
Good benefits, compensation is reasonable, the mission/values of the organization are laudable, and the company gives back to the community. Dr. Boutros seems to be taking MetroHealth in the right direction.
Cons
In my 5 years, I witnessed a pattern of poor hiring decisions in management within my department. Individuals with 10 years experience with MetroHealth were passed up for external candidates with only tangential work experience. This lead me to seek opportunities elsewhere. If you're looking for an organization where you can advance, this may not be the place for you. It definitely was not for me. I also rated culture and values low because, while the organization as a whole has a strong set of values, individual departments can be very toxic and have very competitive cultures. Dr. Boutros has taken huge steps to improve the culture of MetroHealth, but in many departments these changes are not being implemented. Also, something that should be noted - my former department has seen a 40% turnover rate within the last 12 months including the senior management level and 3 managers (one of the positions saw 3 changes within a year, with the two new hires both being external candidates).
