PTO Accrual Work Life Balance Benefits

IT Department is seemingly not willing to accept internal transfers. I’ve applied several times to different roles and each of them were denied. You’d think me being a current Methodist employee would have some value, in addition to my experience but apparently not. Also, Methodist is too focused on getting PREFECT patient experience scores. Nothing else counts. It makes it seem like unless you’re getting “Top Box” ratings, you’re not efficient or working hard enough to take care of your patients.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.
