Employees are happy - Registered Nurse, BSN Methodist Health System Employee Review

Pros

A family environment comes to mind. Working friendships are easily formed and long-lasting after parting.

Cons

I was not happy with the mandated vaccination compliance of 2021. The company has now relaxed this rule but for those of us who submitted rather than face unemployment, it is too little, too late. Honoring the wishes of HC providers who know more about Medicine than do the non-medically trained Business managers would have been a wise decision in the long run.

Thank you for your 5-star review! We're really glad that you're enjoying our family-like culture and making good friends. We know that not everyone agreed with our vaccination policy, but as a healthcare organization that cares about the health and safety of its employees and patients, we made what we believed to be the best decision. But we're glad that you stayed with us, and we hope you continue to find your career rewarding!

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
