Medical Benefit coverage is terrible - Manager Methodist Health System Employee Review

Pros

co-workers are nice, opportunity for advancement if you have a good Director

Cons

MHS does not offer IVF benefits. They claim they are competitive with other systems; they are NOT. Baylor and Cook Childrens are offering IVF coverage. Also, if you want the cheapest healthcare you must go on the EPO plan and use Methodist PCPs. This is terrible for employees commuting from Ft Worth/west of Metroplex to Dallas.. I jumped ship to Baylor Ftw; got a raise and now have IVF coverage! A faith-based hospital should support families wanting to grow and needing help with conception!

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
