We are better than this - Analyst Merit Laboratories Employee Review

You will be asked to accomendate other peoples schedules with no respect for your own personal time while they will not be asked the same due to playing favorites. Often times you have to be a day ahead of an already rapid turn around time because of this issue alone. You will be asked to cover the work of other people and your own for upwards of a month at times because they refuse to hire people or pay them enough. Sure most people deal with some degree of overtime and bad communication from management both vertically and horizontally, but merit labs takes bad management to the next level through asking you to be unethical. Phrases like run this by any means necessary and as long as it passes are not why i wanted to be a scientist. You will later get cornered in the parking lot and get called in for a meeting for doing what you were told, but on that day they will insult you for being an incompetent analyst. Most days i dont have much time allowed for a lunch break on top of all other problems due to the rush nature of this job. One time I worked back to back 13 hr days while being a salary worker just because a co worker was out then I ended up getting sick myself from the stress and fatigue. My name got put in the system as out by 9am through the hr department and I still got angry phone calls and texts later in the day by upper management asking when rushes would be done. When I explained I was sick my boss said must be nice my kids don't allow me to be sick. The work parties are honestly a con in my book...the last thing I want is to see them outside of working hours. I would rather see a pay raise or bonus over an overpriced party.
