Pros
The pro is simply being able to work with great customers, (or "guests as menards requires you call them.)
Cons
Department Managers and Assistant Managers are mostly young kids from 20-25 years old that have no college education. Most of them have worked at Menards since high school, and have no real world experience outside of Menards. Menards is ran by iron fisted management, starting with most asst. GM's and the GM as well. They drill department managers into sheeple, that quake in fear at their presence. It's a do as I say, not as I do thing. The department managers, (and assistants) are overworked, sometimes working 65 hours in a week, for seven days straight. That level of stress is then taken out on the floor staff, both sales and stockers. They teach you sales is everything, "Take the Money" is a motto there. Yet, if you spend too much time helping customers, they jump you at every turn. Bottom line, if you're an 18 year-old kid or an old fart that just needs something to do a few hours a week, and can put up with their totalitarian ways, go for it. Otherwise, find some place else to work, where you'll be appreciated.
