Pros
There were few pros at this place besides some of the customers being friendly and the people I worked with. Oh ! And they are very flexible with hours, I was allowed to only work weekends while being in school, but they would play with my hours so much that sometimes I would only be working 12 hours a weekend.
Cons
I spent almost 3 years of my life at Meijer, and although I was full time during the summer and only worked weekends throughout the year because I'm a student, I was only being paid 8.50 an hour! Whenever I tell people that they are amazed with how crappy the pay raises are. They expect you to never talk to your co workers, to keep busy when there is absolutely nothing to do, and the worst part is they cut hours very badly around Christmas, of all times. They're constantly showing stupid videos during their Friendly meetings in the learning center about how Meijer is doing so amazing, and how they're expanding into new cities, but the discount we received still sucked, the pay was horrible, and the pay raises were extremely infrequent. I worked with people who had been employed with Meijer for over 15-20 years, and they were only making 11.50, so what does that tell you ?!
