Pros

They're very flexible with schedules and that works great for students or anyone else working a second job. They're also union which is rare in the retail world now.

Cons

What can I say? They don't let employees have water when they work unless there's a medical reason. If your car just so happens to die on the way in to work, you get a point on your record for missing work. Same thing applies if you're deathly ill and can barely get out of bed, much less work. They don't offer any kind of bonus or profit sharing and instead have turned the bonus into special in store discounts twice a year. The rate of turnover for my department, service, is somewhere around 75 to 80%. Your breaks are never guaranteed to be on time so you will work sometimes fighting the urge to pass out. Thanks to a high rate of turnover, you will likely be held over past the time you're scheduled to leave or if in another department, be called to help out in a department you barely know. They punish every kind of screw up, but rarely do you get recognized for something good.

Pros

Direct coworkers were great to work with. I also enjoyed being left to do my work and not babysat by management.

Cons

Management doesn't know what they are doing. Resets and floor plans were regularly not done properly. The store I worked at has a skeleton crew so I never got help (but was expected to stop everything I'm going to go help other departments/areas). Also meaning good luck to any customers needing help, especially when I was the only person working my area of the store, so when I wasn't there, no one was. Management also regularly disappeared into the offices or were on vacation. Also was terminated for reasons outside my control even though I was told they look at the reasons for attendance incidents before termination. Never got to get the FMLA or accommodation to my doctors before being terminated two days after I requested them. Didn't bother asking for a raise either. I did multiple times and got nothing.
