However, your review contains inaccurate information that we want to clarify. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there is a national shortage of veterinary technicians. MedVet is not immune to this staffing shortage. Patient care remains our top priority and reinforces our mission of "Leading Specialty Healthcare for Pets." As a result of our commitment to patient care, no patient has ever been in a situation to receive negligent care. While overtime is offered on a regular basis, staff members are not required to work overtime hours. In addition, robust training is provided for all employees including new hire orientation, on-the-job training, continuing education opportunities, leadership, culture and communication skills training and more. MedVet strives to adopt best practices across all of our hospitals--many of which have come from our talented New Orleans professionals. Compassion fatigue is a very real and serious effect of working in any healthcare field. MedVet offers continuing education focused on combating compassion fatigue at our locations. We also offer counseling support through our health insurance and employee assistance program.
