Pros

I was specifically hired as the only female in my dept. Job wasnt too hard. Good team and coworkers

Cons

When I first started my numbers were though the roof. I kicked butt. And showed up all my male counterparts. Once I was in the eye of my super it was all over. I would work double the rate and harder and still my daily numbers were plummeting. I was put in an area known for not being able to achieve high numbers. Company minimum is 80%. At first I was told that i would be on equipment, Im licensed for 8 machines, then later told that its a privileged being on a lift and that i have to achieve over 100% daily production. I was put at a set-up with my area then not having a lift cert. I was otld as long as my badge scans inside the door on time i wouldnt be penalized. Then later i was given write up after write up for even 30 seconds late. Family emergencies with dr notes or court papers and still i was written up. When i threw my back out attempting to raise my numbers by working too hard, i was taken off of work for 7 days. This was a legit letter saying i couldnt work! Yep, written up for that time too. Thats what got me fired. And to top it off, becasue of how little time I had there, I wasnt eligible for fmla to cover my time. So I was fired because I threw my back out, couldnt walk, and ordered not to work. When my managers had me in their sight, that was it. End of story. Ultimataley I was fired on a monday for missing the previous friday due to a having court. The numbering system is effed up, management is petty af. Intentionally go out of their way to bury you. It's such bs.

Pros

1. relatively aloof culture for ICs to grow on their own 2. on and off few people are good 3. Actually consultants in india are better than some full time hires to work with. The h1bs in full time roles and some GCs/Americans are just 1 step away from unemployment line but there are some good quality consultants who can be directed well to bring in good work. Problem is lack of direction when middle management is just running after money.

Cons

1. top most management is clueless to what is going post the middle tier 2. middle tiers - VPs/SVPs/Directors and Sr. Directors are among the worst. Mostly cast offs from Consulting firms/Tech cos/Other Healthcare firms, this group has some of the worst, clueless folks who just think very narrowly about how to get rid of problems, maybe craft a story for higher ups. Get rid of this layer ( so called people management ) and co. could shine better on the work of ICs, decent software engineers and regular rank and file. 3. Main money maker distribution is different from tech group and the IT here is almost comical - 2 years ago in 2024 there were "directors" bringing AI agents with 90% hallucination .. I mean that has got to be an industry first!
