Pros
The people in the trenches are awesome.
Cons
1. Management consists of human jellyfish. Very few managers stick up for their people. Instead, they are nothing more than company YES men, puckering up to kiss the butts of the senior management team. 2. Benefits get worse and worse each year. 3. Poor decision-making and a lack of interest in the suggestions of people working on the floor. They feign interest but then do their own thing anyway. 4. Complete lack of action on items that should be dealt with quickly. Instead, the items of concern sit unattended for years at a time and get pushed aside. 5. They love to have Kaizens but all they leave in the wake of those meetings is a long list of unfinished items that remain unfinished as they move on the next Kaizen. 6. No follow-through on items identified as needing attention. 7. Hold back people from advancing while telling them in the same breath that they want them to promote. If you are good at something, forget about every moving up because they abhor the vacuum that would be created if you were to promote. 8. Low pay 9. Lack of recognition for skills unless it somehow benefits THEM. 10. Exploitation of people's skills and a lot of lip service about advancement but ZERO action to actually help people advance. 11. No clearly written plan or checklist for anyone to work from to chart skills on the way to advancement. It all becomes purely subjective to the manager writing the review.
