Cons
Long Hours/work weekends, High Expectations/Responsibilities w/ little to no positive affirmation of your efforts from leadership (aside from pay/benefits you receive), political environment depending on your location/team. Top leadership/higher-ups reap most of the rewards/bonuses while the work horses/engine keeps the machine fed and does most of the dirty work/long hours (project engineers, field team, majority of PM's to be specific). Tough to relate to Leadsership and put on a face when they barley know your name and all they do is drive from project to project with a nice shirt on and 'talk' construction without actually doing much of anything else than the occasional phone call and owner meeting. Cheers to them though, some of them put in the work. Few of them still do, but they are all easy to get along with for the most part, you just need to make the effort to be recognized, unfortunately your hard work itself isn't enough, you really have to drink the koolaid and lots of it.
