Pros

you are helping the confused public sign up for affordable health care so helping the consumer is a great feeling.

Cons

supervisors are constantly riding you to take more calls, mostly the supervisors don't know the answer to the question you are asking and they just leave you hanging to make up something to tell the consumer, benefits are awful, $2500.00 deductible on medical. We were told when we were hired that the contract was good for 2 years so we all thought we had jobs for 2 years after 6 months 1800 of us were let go. They kept 200 and they were the csrs that were hired first, they did not keep any of us that had high call counts, great customer service reviews, and great phone monitoring by the supervisor, and never missed a day of work. None of what they pushed us for counted on keeping our jobs. Every csr is paid the same yet the supervisors had their favorites that got away with just about anything they could come up with including not showing up for work.

Cons

Not too many - a few misunderstanding s about training classes and roles but overall, not bad.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
