Better than most - Project Manager Maximus Employee Review

Pros

Worked remotely, good management is hit or miss. I generally liked the other engineers and project managers I worked with, more so than in other large companies I've worked at. I believe this is most likely because of the leadership at the time. I've heard the leadership has gone downhill since I worked there from a trusted co-worker.

Cons

Like all large companies I've worked for, it can be a stressful job with lots of moving parts and many projects to juggle.

Pros

Remote, adequate training and guidance and usually everything /software works - minus regular hiccups.

Cons

Not too many - a few misunderstanding s about training classes and roles but overall, not bad.

Pros

Had a few really exceptional coworkers

Cons

One reason I was hired was to bring in new ideas and work approaches; however, when I tried implementing anything new, some of the “old school higher-ups” would balk and were never open to anything new or better. My management just looked the other way and didn’t support me. As for training, I wasn’t offered much in the way of onboarding other than being told to read a lengthy “standard operating procedures” document. No real opportunities were offered to shadow anyone so I could learn in real-time. A typical work week was 60+ hours and often stretched to 70+. It was exhausting and demoralizing. The job was not sustainable and I’ve never been more relieved to be done with a place. I cannot recommend Maximus as a place to grow your skills or to give your time. Turnover seems to be relatively high at Maximus and there are far better places to work.
