Pros
I legitimately cannot think of one.
Cons
They lie about how much money you are going to make. They feed your head with all these "possibilities" but depending on the branch you work for you will never receive a lot of commission. You will be lucky to keep up with the minimum sales they want you to put out. They also stick the recruiters in "the pit" which is basically a bunch of desks facing each other with no privacy so that not only your fellow recruiters know how many sales you are or are not getting but so does the entire office, I understand there needs to be some friendly competition between recruiters but this environment made it feel like junior high. If you were doing better than certain people especially people who had been there for years you did not receive praise from fellow recruiters you were exiled. It did not help that the boss totally instigated the pettiness. Unfortunately all this competition made for a toxic work environment and the staff that was in charge did nothing about it. There are plenty of ways to incentivize getting your numbers up in a positive way. There is no reason a healthcare recruiter should ever have more pressure on them than the wolf of wall street. I also just want to mention this again, During my time there most people in positions who had staff under them were the worst. They either avoided confrontation all together and let subordinates fight it out in the pit like a couple of rabid dogs or they had absolutely no experience at the job and therefore lacked respect from other higher ups and gave off the feeling that they genuinely had no idea what was going on or how they got their job, The experience was a nightmare, I've never fought with coworkers or really anyone for that matter and every morning I had to walk into the Maxim office you could cut the tension with a knife. The other thing I hated was that you were expected to find nurses and low ball them so much it was insulting. What they were paying even the most educated and experienced nurses was a joke. That definitely didn't boost office morale taking advantage of a sweet nurse who just got her license and didn't realize how bad you were ripping them off, Sometimes after hiring someone I would feel guilty and pray that no one does that to me at my next job.
