Pros
Autonomy. If you are doing your job they leave you alone. Tons of freedom. Lots of travel, it was great never being stuck in an office. Good tools and help from District Manager to hit goals. Did not require long, tedious hand-written call reports. It was all done electronically.
Cons
Pay is very low, and commission percentage has been lowered at least twice over the last several years. The worst part is they do not provide a vehicle allowance or more importantly, enough income to provide for vehicle replacement. If you're driving 50,000 miles a year, you will need to replace your car sooner than later. The company has ridiculously long national sales meetings...at least a week long. They could shorten these incredibly redundant meetings to a day and half and take the huge sum of money they waste on the lavish food and expensive hotels and in turn pay their territory managers much better. Employee retention and satisfaction would improve dramatically.
