Pros
Clients love the work we do and the company is in growth mode. You get a sense you’re on a winning team. No wasted time, no busy work, no nonsense. You get responsibility as fast as you can prove you can handle it. People want to hear what I have to say and value it. I was in front of a client in my first month and leading a client workshop by my third month. They treat you like a professional, and clients pick up on that and do the same. I’ve always felt like a worker bee at other companies, here it doesn’t feel like that. There’s no company that will invest more in you, but it’s an investment: they expect a lot in return for the time they spend and care they put in. The feedback is real, direct, and constant. It’s constructive, but they don’t hold back. Expectation is when you get feedback, are going to work hard to grow and improve. The senior people on the team have been doing this work for decades, and love to share and teach. It’s not just work all the time. It’s a tight group that has a lot of fun outside work. Lots of continuing ed opportunities to learn, practice real-life skills, and become well rounded. So happy working here.
Cons
Our projects can be vague or ambiguous at times. There can be no structure or framework sometimes. It’s consulting: things change quickly and unexpectedly which is tough for some people and definitely something to be aware of. You definitely need to be comfortable with fast pace and challenging work.
