Pros
I have worked at many different companies throughout my career, but honestly, not saying this just because I am a current employee, my work with Matcha has been by far the best. First of all, I was hired as a remote employee and that is a hard position to come by these days. In the past, I have worked in an office for many years and I know that I am most efficient when I am allowed the flexibility of remote work. Matcha has allowed me that flexibility and I feel it has empowered me to be the best employee and therefore contributed back to the growth of the company. I feel that is true for all Matcha's employees. The company culture is extremely transparent and strong. We have unlimited vacation days, but any vacation days you take off falls to another teammate. Everyone is very mindful of each other and it creates and really powerful community of employees. It's a great release to not feel stressed about time off and being limited to the dreaded "2 weeks vacation" for an entire year. Teammates and managers are always checking in on each other to make sure that everyone is happy and striving to be the best contributors they can be. Being the fast-growing company it is, there are always new challenges and room for growth within the company. Probably my favorite part of working here is the positivity and people. We have a Slack channel that is dedicated to "kudos" and giving positive feedback on different teammates. It's so uplifting to read and see every day!
Cons
This is not the sort of place to work if you want a boring mindless work. I have worked at those places and here at Matcha, you must push yourself and be a self-starter. Personally, I find that to be a pro, but not all people will thrive in this environment so know what kind of work you want. If you want to be micro-managed and told exactly what to do all the time, you may not enjoy yourself here.
