Pros

You get to work with cool people - lack of any real performance frameworks makes quiet quitting and rest and vest the norm Recharge weekends are a unique and needed benefit with the challenges of unlimited PTO Decent amount of young talent surrounding us so you learn new things

Cons

Compensation: despite being in an industry that’s known for above average perks and compensation Marvell has been on a race to the bottom. Managers are given 2.5-3% to play with come focal review time and expected to meaningfully be able to retain talent all while compensation bands themselves go up by 8-10%. Benefits are significantly under the market. Many employees come to me complaining about poor service with Anthem and coverage issues. Marvell’s prescription drug benefit is on a race to the bottom rushing to exclude as much as possible and discourage any utilization. As I’ve worked for the company I’ve steadily just seen items get cut and cut and cut from expanded dental coverage to fitness subsidies to credits that are still quite standard in the semiconductor space for those that decline employer sponsored coverage. Zero help with weight management is absurd in a tech company where everyone sits all day and we have a massive cafeteria.

Pros

-high impact work, high visibility, hyped field (AI Infra) -most teams don't have daily standups like traditional software companies, less useless meetings -insanely smart employees -5 days office but management is very lenient; any small reason to wfh is perfectly fine -feels good to be here

Cons

pay could be better if compared to the big leagues like nvidia and broadcom
