Pros
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed most of my years at MarketWake. On the surface, the culture is fun-loving, and the events the company sets up are fun. No doubt some of the wonderful people at MarketWake are still there.
Cons
Unfortunately, a number have since left the company, and I found that underneath the surface, the culture didn’t always feel aligned with how it was portrayed, and management seemed to lose direction in this aspect. In my experience, management often came across as reactive, inexperienced, and often untransparent. Communication was frequently incomplete, and feedback, when provided, was rarely timely or clear. Leadership often seemed to operate with double standards, favoring certain voices while overlooking others. From my perspective, I didn’t see the values of humanity, integrity, or accountability consistently reflected in MarketWake’s leadership actions or decisions, and the environment felt more like a social clique than a workplace focused on collaboration. In terms of growth, it sometimes felt like office politics influenced career advancement more than merit. Also, some internal conversations about clients and colleagues didn’t sit well with me and felt misaligned with the professional standards I value. If leadership truly aims to be human-centered and to cultivate a meaningful culture, the experience should feel like a mutual, supportive partnership, not a transactional or ambiguous power dynamic. In my opinion, Marketwake is no longer a place where long-term, authentic career development is well-supported.
