Pros

Pay could be alright if you had a good month. But good luck getting the amount of leads you need from them that are actually worth anything. Especially in the beginning. Cold calling is your game? You’re perfect here.

Cons

Sales hopefuls beware! Don’t just take my review into account. Go and look up their TrustPilot, Yelp, or Better Business Bureau ratings. That’s what you’re selling against. Now for the review: I worked at Market Leader from May 2024 to January 2025, and the experience was nothing short of a disaster. While I started strong, becoming one of the top rookies and the #1 salesperson in October, the company’s toxic culture and incompetent leadership quickly became apparent. When my grandfather passed away in November, I communicated openly about my emotional struggles, yet instead of offering support, my new manager attacked my work ethic. Instead of evaluating sales based on clear metrics, my manager focused on vague, subjective criticisms, especially when I was at my most vulnerable. Despite my previous success, I was placed on a PIP in January, just a few months after having been one of the top performers. Then came a complete lack of fairness: after splitting a deal with a colleague, they decided to revoke the split on a technicality, claiming I “didn’t do enough” despite my involvement. When I questioned this, I was immediately fired. The company’s high turnover says it all. In the 8 months I worked there, over 125 employees cycled through, which speaks volumes about the environment. The product was subpar at best: • Unreliable product and terrible retention – Clients consistently tried to back out of deals, with a 50% retention rate at best across the board. • Dishonest sales practices – Salespeople were encouraged to be misleading about the product’s limitations and quality. • Outdated platform and terrible support – The software was outdated, and support was outsourced, leaving customers frustrated and unsatisfied. • Unfair compensation and random lead flow restrictions – Pay could be decent if you had a good month, but if you weren’t part of the ‘in’ crowd, your opportunities were drastically limited without any explanation. In short, this company has little regard for its employees or customers. If you’re considering joining, be aware that leadership will throw you under the bus the second things get difficult, and your success will be determined more by luck than skill.

Pros

Wonderful coworkers and good culture on the Product & Engineering team.

Cons

The company as a whole is sales driven, not product or customer driven. They are not honest about what they are selling and it shows in the customer experience.
