Pros
Mr. Noel Lobo at the Mumbai office, whose positive outlook and supportive nature stood out as a rare bright spot in an otherwise bleak environment.
Cons
As a former Management Trainee at Manipal Cards Technology (MCT), my experience was deeply disheartening due to poor leadership, unfair practices, and a toxic work environment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I endured a pay cut and was eventually laid off, with the company citing financial losses. However, it became clear that these losses stemmed from a sister company, which MCT was forced to subsidize, disproportionately affecting junior employees like myself. Shockingly, colleagues who contributed little were promoted, highlighting a lack of merit-based decision-making. The leadership at MCT was largely ineffective, with most leaders displaying negative thinking and poor management skills, fostering a demotivating atmosphere. The workplace was heavily male-dominated, with no female employees in the sales department, which compounded the sense of exclusion. Internal politics were rampant, and career growth was painfully slow, often dictated by favoritism rather than performance. Overall, MCT’s lack of transparency, inequitable treatment, and uninspiring leadership make it an organization I cannot recommend to those seeking a fair, inclusive, or growth-oriented workplace.
