Pros
Surrounding is nice. Met few of my lifetime friends here. Really expose you to people from different backgrounds, life objectives, and qualifications. Fun environment. As a member of the academia, you are exposed to young minds ready to be mold. So you have a platform to test whether you are really suitable for academia or otherwise. Strategic location to everything. Tesco is just within walking distance.
Cons
I really loved the university, but the attitude of some people really made me think otherwise. A number of the Head of department/schools are put in the positions when their qualifications stated otherwise. Some of their underlings deserved to lead to be honest. Cronyism is apparent. University has lots of potential but undermined by incompetent leaders and lack of ambition from other departments. Staffs are rewarded based on weird criteria (who made the most student-related activities; staff of choice; etc). Lack of support for cultivation of research among staffs. Prioritise looks over knowledge. Certain great and knowledgeable staffs were ousted just because their attire is deemed 'too religious'. Staffs turnover is high.
