Pros
1. Complete autonomy, based on trust. If something is wrong, I am not only allowed to fix it, I am encouraged to. If I think something is a good idea, I'm not only encouraged to do it, but also supported to do it in the best way. 2. We're actually making people's lives better, instead of just talking about it. 3. Being the best at something is hugely empowering - and MA is the best at what it does. 4. At first you think it's a school, then you think it's a cult, but eventually you realise it's a tribe.
Cons
It's hard work constantly striving to be better, especially when MA wants to improve education, recruitment, software engineering AND company culture. Constantly having to think about how you could be a better human being, how you could be better at your job and how others could work better together, learn better or even treat each other better - it all means that you don't have quite as much time to actually do your job as you might in other companies. But that's also actually a good thing.
