Great magnet hospital with tiny downfalls - Staff Nurse RN Main Line Health Employee Review

Pros

Working for a Magnet Hospital has it perks and there is a strong sense of feeling appreciated and being cared about as an employee. Only here PRN on the off tours, I have enjoyed multiple complimentary meals and have even met the Chief Nursing Officer, all things that I have never accomplished at my other job working full time for the past 5 years.

Cons

Mainline Health strives for all of their nurses to excel, however; only provides educational opportunities or tuition reimbursement to their full time employees. There are so many changes that occur on a daily basis and clear communication to all disciplines of staff is difficult resulting in many surprises, desirable or not. No raises to PRN staff despite having to complete all the required elements that full time staff do (reviews, etc.).

Pros

Meaningful work with opportunities to use and develop your skills as an electrician. Competitive pay and benefits. Chance to work in a hospital environment with a variety of electrical systems.

Cons

Lack of transparency regarding shift expectations during the hiring process. Work-life balance can be challenging, especially for employees with families. Scheduling and communication with new hires could be improved. Promised opportunities and timelines may not align with the reality of the position.
