Pros
-Great pay! Starting is $22/hr after bonuses. $18/hr without bonuses
-You can qualify for raises every 6 months and can earn up to $26/hr
-there are trainings and workshops available to help teachers succeed and grow
-secondary positions available, giving teachers to opportunity to work full time
-emergency cancellations are allowed
-The company feels like a family, and you are not treated like just a number
-Very fun and engaging curriculum
-1v4 classroom
-it's a newer company, so there is LOTS of room for growth, and the company is great at receiving feedback and making changes to become better.
-Understanding of life circumstances, for example, pregnancy, sickness, family obligations, etc.
-Diversity among teachers
In my opinion, the pros far outweigh the cons when it comes to Magic Ears. They are by far the best ESL company out there. They love their teachers and want us to succeed. There will always be complaints about any company (you'll never find a perfect ESL company), but they are truly trying to become better and they listen to their teachers. Any negative review you find is from someone over exaggerating about a flaw the company has. Magic Ears will always listen to constructive feedback!
Cons
-early hours for teachers living west of the US
-booking rate is low for the first few weeks to about a month or so in the beginning before you rank up as a teacher
-Be aware that there are some growing pains (as with any new company)
