Pros
I have just crossed the 90 day threshold and what seemed like a difficult decision three months ago, has become the best move in my career. In my opinion, the greatest places to work start with the value systems of the CEO and his family. This, in turn, creates a culture of honesty, practicality, open discussion, entrepreneurship, and decisive execution. I have served in the military and worked for family owned and public companies. One of the most important (and to some, frustrating) characteristics I hold at a premium is for an organization to let me be a part of the decision making (both strategic and tactical) process. I enjoy the sense of ownership when leading a process or people. If I don’t have that, I feel limited in my contributions. To that end, MSI has had enough success to hire only people that can execute; however, they embrace people who have a high curiosity, passionate work ethic, and a desire to own their decisions.
Cons
If you’re reading this and you’re like me, you will be skeptical of my “Pros” if I don’t have a “Con”. Unfortunately, you’re just going to have to be skeptical, because it is the best place, with the best people, I have worked.
