Pros

Some Regions have good projects.

Cons

MRI India had multiple projects serving multiple regions like EMEA, APAC, and NA. My experience was mainly in NA projects, specifically within the NA Living portfolio. The "Leaders" in that folio were not leaders but marketing specialists who can sell coal to jewelers by promoting it as diamonds through self-promotion. These "leaders", have a knack for impressing key people with their public relations style, selling products in which they have played no part, and gaining significantly for themselves. Simultaneously, they put their team members in a miserable position through office politics, sheer amount of favoritism, and the creation of a toxic work environment. They say: Great leaders praise their teams for success and take the blame for failure. This is essentially inverted in case of these "leaders" in India. If you were one of their favorites, you could get a free pass to do nothing and still receive promotions or raises as long as you contribute to gossip in office politics. However, if you are not a favorite, they will ensure your removal from the company by making your life miserable through micromanaging or frustrating you to the core, even if you had dedicated significant effort to the company and projects.

Pros

There are some genuinely talented people across the company, and I had the chance to work on interesting projects in real estate

Cons

The way restructuring was handled felt cold and transactional. Employees were told their roles were ending, but were still expected to keep working through a long transition period, document everything they know, and complete extensive knowledge transfer requirements. Severance was tied to broad conditions and final approvals, which made the process feel less like support and more like leverage. What made it worse was the tone. Leadership messaging talked a lot about respect, dignity, and the future, but the actual experience felt very different. It created a real sense of betrayal, especially for employees who had spent years contributing, adapting, and going above and beyond.
