Pros

This was my first engineering job out of college. I worked here for four years and I was at two different divisions of the company: Boulder, CO and Longmont, CO. Boulder: -Good team of engineers that would pitch in to help each other with their workload. -Fill different job functions (worked with manufacturing, buyers, 3D printing, customers) -Each project was shorter than a month, so I got to see a lot of variety. -When I would find I was getting bored with one product line, then I would get transferred to something new. -hands-off management. Longmont: -New product development with multidisciplinary teams -I felt like I came into my own as an engineer and realized what being a mechanical engineer looks like. -Hands-off management style -Friendlier atmosphere. More people ate lunch together -Free soda and coffee in the cafeteria

Cons

Not a lot of career development opportunities at either location. I felt like changing job functions is frowned upon because you never really lose the old job functions. Even 3 years after I was moved from a product line and the product line was discontinued I was still asked questions about the old product line. I think a lot of the hesitancy from upper management to shift employees around is that the CEO has to approve of every hire. Honestly, if the CEO would let business divisions make their own decisions about what they need and don't need, then the company as a whole would be better off. There was a lot of turnover in both management and non-management positions Because of the turnover in management, there were a lot of mixed messages and I felt like management's direction wasn't unified.
