Pros

Very interesting work. The pieces sold at the store are truly fascinating! You will never be as excited by history as you are holding some of the objects they have. If you work in sales or operations, you get to travel a bit, which is a great learning experience. Working in the French Quarter is really great. You are in the middle of it all.

Cons

The schedule is exhausting and the pay is terrible except for the favorites. A few people that have worked there for a long time are quite cliquey and catty and management allows it.

Pros

Many of the coworkers and mid-level managers are nice, The galley is beautiful. Its fun to be in the French Quarter. You learn a lot. The pay and benefits are better than a lot of places in New Orleans, but you'll EARN every penny of it through the sweat of your brow. The company will probably remain solid in this age of oligarchs.

Cons

They expect 24/7/365 availability. Your expected workload is beyond what any one person can do. No matter how hard you work, upper management thinks you are slacking. Nothing is ever good enough. And there is zero, absolutely zero, hope for advancement.
