Pros
I worked as a Mechanical Engineer co-op on the components team. This job involved new product development, fixture design and manufacturing, SolidWorks modeling, ANSYS analysis, and a host of unique opportunities.
The team is very helpful when you have questions, and some of them are eager to help you learn. They will match your responsibilities to your ability level, and you can take on plenty of work if you show you're capable. What I loved most about this position was that I was able to work on a variety of different projects and get experience working with different technologies. They give you real responsibility, including analyses and designs that will be manufactured and shipped to customers.
I can't say enough how much I loved working for Lytron. If you're interested in design, manufacturing, and product development, I would highly recommend this company.
Cons
The only thing that could have been better for me would have been a little more day-to-day collaboration. There were some days when I would hardly speak to another soul. You will need to be a good self-starter and able to speak up for yourself, and seek out help where you need it.
