They let you move around internally and work on the things you're interested in.
Cons
A tank of type A personalities, it is pretty overwhelming. You only get promotions into the job you're already doing... which seems to make sense except that you find yourself working 60 hours a week to try to do a second job beyond your own. I always heard people talk about how the company used to do all these great things for the employees like picnics and such, but it seemed to have all stopped when I joined.
