Pay has gotten ridiculous. Pay boundaries have gotten lower increasing with inflation. No pay raise for promotion. Junior salary is way too low considering how much the cost of living has gone up in the past 5 years. Pay at higher levels is about 40k less on average than at other companies. It feels particularly bad when co-developing with people who are getting paid triple your salary. Different rules and treatment for different people. Some people have low workload while others are very stressed and working over their hours. Tough projects causing people to burn out, and then will be at risk of PIP Offices are dark and a bit gloomy to work in. Little collaboration on some projects. Can be isolating. Some things feel performative for social media

Pros

Good amount of annual leave, Remote(For some people) / hybrid working, Yearly profit share bonus ( but doesn't make up for bad salary)

Cons

Extremely poor pay , well below industry standard when compared to other companies in England outside of London. Lucid has always paid poorly , but it seems to getting worse each year. morale at the company is extremely low, many people not enjoying the projects they are on . and feeling really under appreciated. Either management don't realize how bad morale is , or they just don't care. People on Co-dev projects are often over worked and treated poorly, Lucid do nothing to help with this. Many people are becoming burnt out. It seems lucid no longer care about employee's health and well being. Offices are quite bad , with concerns not taken seriously , there was a big improvement with opening of a new office , but still i would say it is not up to standard.

Pros

Good work culture, nice people, collaborative atmosphere. When you are on a good project, you can really get some great work done and learn a lot.

Cons

Awful pay, this is probably the biggest issue I can see for junior and mid-level staff, it simply is not enough to have a decent quality of life in or near a major city. Just because you can get great talent for the lowest possible wage, doesn't mean they will perform at all well at that wage, people need incentives that simply are not there below senior level. Not any clear pathway to progression, and progression seems to really hinge on which projects you are on, or how readily your manager will advocate for you. I understand this is par for the course, but seems particularly problematic at Lucid.
