Pros
You can work whenever you like as long as there are rating tasks available. The pay is good and the support staff is excellent.
Cons
You cannot just sign up to become a rater. Lionbridge publishes very detailed and strict guidelines for rating web results. You must take three tests and pass each of them to be offered a job. This job is not as easy as you might expect. Lionbridge does not value rater's opinions, they want you to rate each result according to the guidelines. However there are exceptions and nuances that can make rating a task challenging. Only rating experience can teach these minor differences. As a new rater, you are placed on probation until you learn how to rate according to the guidelines. The rating quality staff is excellent, very helpful and friendly. Lionbridge offers very interesting monthly webinars to help new raters learn the ropes. This is a good job if you need flexibility but it can be very boring.
