Since going public, Lightspeed seems to only focused on profitibilty. Having bought ten companies in two years, it’s become an internal mess, with no clear plan on how to manage any of the acquisitions properly. There’s no organizational awareness or real structure, the systems are an absolute mess, which provides unreliable data and the products. Sadly Lightspeed is dominated by systemic issues that, in my opinion, leadership refuses to address. Rather than fix issues, they toss out new initiatives, benefits, or lunches to distract everyone from acknowledging the uncomfortable truths and properly questioning their employer. Surveys sent out over the past two years showed over and over, that at least 80% of employees prefer remote work. However, JP is forcing people back to the back into the office because he spent millions on an office renovation despite overall feedback. Culture and moral has diminished significantly since JP took over.
