Pros
If you position yourself next to the right people, you can learn a lot. Lovely view of the viaduct. Free snacks. Decent PTO accrual, if you can manage to use it.
Cons
You are expected to work a minimum of 50 hours per week as a salaried employee, which generally ends up being 60-70. Even when you have time off, you’re expected to be checking in. Management chooses favorites, and focuses entirely on them. Don’t expect any direction, bonuses or opportunity if you aren’t one of the cool kids- that is, if you weren’t poached from the law firm that all of the upper management used to work at together. You will be left by the wayside. If you complain about it, you’ll be labeled “a bad fit” for the culture.
