Pros
I love taking photos and being able to see kids smiling and getting the perfect moment captured, my manager is great, and some days are really good, paid drive time and mileage reimbursement
Cons
Since the schedule revolves around schools, photographers get laid off A LOT, the company won't do salary pay so we can have pay year round. There are no benefits, unless you're upper management, and this company has an extremely high turn over rate due to the lack of consistent pay and no benefits as photographers are classified as "part time" even though during the on seasons we work full time if not more than 80 hours in 2 weeks. The schedule is very unpredictable and one payday you could make a great check, and the next it's a check for less than $100. Training is very iffy and they don't keep it consistent, nor do they allow enough time for people to properly learn and practice the material. Very early mornings with most drives over 2 hours to get to the school by 7am for set up. Communication is spotty at best, I've gone to a few schools where they have rescheduled or canceled and I wasn't notified of the change because the operations team in charge of all of that didn't tell anyone.
